Andrea Bertino, Ph.D.

Senior Project Manager for Open Science and Research Data at SWITCH

ANDREA C. BERTINO studied philosophy in Genoa and Berlin, and received his PhD 2010 in Greifswald for a study on Nietzsche and Herder under the supervision of Werner Stegmaier.

He worked for several years as a research assistant at the Universities of Greifswald and Regensburg, dealing in particular with Giordano Bruno, Hegel, Nietzsche and Heidegger and, in a systematic perspective, with the use of the metaphor of sacrifice in modern and contemporary philosophical discourses.

Afterward, he undertook project management activities in the fields of scholarly publishing and digital humanities. Since 2017, he has been working at the Göttingen State and University Library, first as project manager for HIRMEOS, a European project dedicated to the development of new services and tools for open access digital monographs, and now as scientific coordinator in the coordination office of DARIAH-DE, the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities.
